Discussion on Wednesday, April 20

The discussion leaders for tomorrow are Vanna, Lindsay, and Brienne. The topic is MOOCs and the future of education. They would like you to watch this video at    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqQNvmQH_YM 

Please come prepared to discuss the following questions:

If you are hiring would this type of education turn you off to hire a person? Or, would this information be considered valuable, and more importantly, unique compared to other applicants who have only a degree from a university? In your opinion, are MOOCs credible or illegitimate? 

Do you believe the advantages outweigh the disadvantages? Would you ever consider enrolling in MOOCs before a traditional, classroom course?

 Do MOOCs democratize higher education?

What do you think is the future of education?

Do you think MOOCs are just a fad? Do you think they’ll continue to gain popularity or eventually “fizzle out”?
